Emergency Assistance

If you have been negatively impacted due to COVID-19, CFC’s Emergency Housing Assistance program can provide financial assistance for income eligible renters and homeowners to prevent homelessness. We also provide referrals to other resource saving programs, both internal and external to CFC. Please see below for full program details and eligibility guidelines.

The provision of housing and utility assistance unrelated to COVID-19 is subject to FEMA funding availability. CFC currently does not have FEMA funding available at this time.

Program Details:

Program Funding: This housing assistance program is funded by CARES Act funding provided by the federal and state governments.

Program Benefits: As of Oct. 1st, the program provides up to $3,000 in rent/mortgage assistance for eligible households.

Program Eligibility: Available to Greater Fall River and Greater Taunton renters and property owners facing eviction with demonstrable proof that they were negatively impacted by COVID-19, i.e. loss of work, income, or other circumstance.

Any individuals and households owing over $3,000 in back rent are not eligible for the program. Please visit the MA Emergency Housing website or NeighborWorks Housing Solutions for more assistance options.

Your household must also be under 125% of the 2022 Federal Poverty Income Level to meet program income guidelines.

  • 1 – $16,100
  • 2 – $21,775
  • 3 – $27,450
  • 4 – $33,125
  • 5 – $38,800
  • 6 – $44,475

Program Funding: This program is funded completely by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and has its own set of eligibility guidelines. The operation of this housing assistance program is solely dependent on the availability of FEMA funding.

Eligibility: Client must be in the process of moving into or being evicted from their current living environment, and the property must be in the Greater Fall River area.

Application Process: Application is taken at the office.

Criteria for Selection: Must be moving into or in the process of being evicted from your current living situation.
