Applications for the Adam Clayton Powell award and the Edward J (Jud) Sullivan scholarship are now available at our CFC Head Start and Child Care offices located at 427 Robeson Street as well as both CFC Griffin Street locations (250 & 264) The deadline for applying is Friday, April 28, 2017.
The qualifications for the Powell award are the following: applicant must be the parent of a current or former student who participated in one of our CFC programs: Head Start, After School Daycare, Extended Daycare or our Family Child Care Program. Academic performance, economic need, community service involvement and career goals are a few of the criteria in which the applicant will be judged.
The qualifications for the Sullivan scholarship are the following: applicant must be a high school senior who will be continuing their education at a two or four year college and/or accredited technical school AND are former students of either CFC’s Head Start, After School Daycare, Extended Daycare or our Family Child Care Program. Academic performance, economic need, community service involvement and career goals are among the criteria in which the applicant will be judged.
